Episode 77: "Anything To Keep Me Away From A Day Job" with Rojo Perez
This week on the podcast we have the very funny comedian, Rojo Perez (The Tonight Show)! Rojo talks about navigating the pandemic when he had a bunch of tour dates cancelled, but making it work. Anna and Rojo talk about how it's so hard to imagine going back to a day job when you're removed for so long, even if the stability (and meals?) sound enticing! We of course rewind it back to Rojo's teenage years in Puerto Rico where he worked for his dad's wood rental business. While this is an audio podcast, we love to picture baby Rojo carrying wood all over the place in his heavy gear because he didn't want to get dirty. Anna and Rojo talk about his days of being a referee for different sports, working as a valet parking attendant, and a three week stint exterminating bedbugs. Yeah, the NYC bedbugs. Eventually he became a fulltime comedian but he has so many funny stories and this episode is fire!
